This elegant and complex organic Cava is produced by Maria Casanovas, a Penedès-based family winery which crafts Brut Nature cavas only.
Interestingly, Maria Casanovas Gran Reserva Brut Nature Magnum is made principally from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which are complemented with a minor proportion of the traditional Cava varieties: Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada. The resulting Spanish sparkling wine is nuanced and complex.
Each of the grape varieties was separately fermented in stainless steel tanks. Then Maria Casanovas Gran Reserva Brut Nature Magnum was blended, and aged for a minimum of 30 months.

Nose | Extremely rich aromatic profile. This cava of Maria Casanovas has plenty of ripe white fruit and bone fruit, nuanced by red berries, flowers and remembrances of yeasts, pastry and dry fruit. There is also a lemony note over a delicately mineral background. |
Palate | Nice entrance onto the palate, with volume, definition and an immediate sensation of freshness. Dry and crisp, with remembrances of lime and citrus, a leesy note, and intimations of red berries, flowers and herbs. This Cava Gran Reserva Brut Nature has a long finish, with an aftertaste of dry fruit, raspberries and aromatic herbs. |
