Produced by Can Descregut, a tiny but uncompromisingly quality-oriented winery virtually unknown outside its native Catalonia, Memòria Brut Nature is a Corpinnat organic sparkling wine made from Xarel·lo and Chardonnay.
The grapes come from estate-owned, over 40-year-old vineyards located in some of Penedès' best areas.
Both varieties were separately vinified in stainless steel tanks. The this organic Spanish sparkling wine was blended, delicately filtered and bottled to complete secondary fermentation.
Finally, Memòria Brut Nature 2015 was aged for a minimum of 60 months in the cellar.
No shipping liquor was added to the wine after the disgorging date, which is printed on the back label. This Corpinnat sparkling wine is disgorged on demand.
The sparkler Memòria Brut Nature has an intense, bright yellow colour. Very attractive, this Corpinnat Brut Nature exhibits some ambarine tinges.
Elegantly mature, though also plenty of life, this Corpinnat sparkler from Penedès smells of toast, fine lees, pastry and dry fruit. On the background, this blend of Xarel·lo & Chardonnay insinuates aromas of citrus, white fruit and flowers.
Quite complex, lush and balanced. This sparkling wine of the Can Descregut winery suggests white fruit and citrus, with a distinctive note of orange rind, as well as some hints of flowers, broom and dry fruit. Crisp acidity, tiny bubbles and long, delicately toasted finish, resulting from its long aging.
