Details
The red wine Palacios Remondo La Montesa is made mostly from Grenache, complemented with a smattering of Tempranillo, both coming from low-yielding vineyards. The producer, bodegas Palacios Remondo, owns about 100 hectares of vineyards spread out across some of the best terroirs in La Rioja.
The soils have extremely low levels of organic matter and are covered of pebble stones of alluvial origin, a composition which is quite similar to that of the famed Châteauneuf-du-Pape soils.
Harvested at dusk, the grapes were meticulously selected, destemmed and cold-macerated to foster the extraction of colour and aromas. The alcoholic fermentation of this Crianza red wine took place in stainless steel tanks.
After that, Palacios Remondo La Montesa 2019 was transferred into 1st, 2nd and 3rd 225-litre French (85%) and American (15%) oak barrels and aged for a period of 12 months.
Decant this organic red wine 30 minutes before you drink it.
