Availability: In stock
The wine Pico Palomares - named after the highest peak in the Sonsierra area of La Rioja – is one of the bottlings of the Gama Parajes collection, created by winemaker David González to explore the singular terroirs of DOCa Rioja.
This blended Spanish red wine is made from Tempranillo and Graciano, sourced from old vines grown in limestone-rich soils at 700 metres above sea level, in the heart of La Sonsierra subzone, which produces wines with a distinctively mineral edge.
The fully-destemmed, uncrushed grapes went through a cold maceration before being fermented in tanks under controlled temprature for 10 days. After that, this red wine from La Rioja was aged for 12 months in 225-litre French oak barrels and a 2,500-litre oak vats.
After bottling, the red wine Pico Palomares 2023 was stored for no less than 12 months before hitting the market.
Limited production.

| Nose | Expressive and utterly characteristic, this blend of Tempranillo and Graciano has a radiant mineral streak that just screams limestone, with concentrated black cherry fruit, some toasted and smokey notes, a splash of herbs and liquorice and hints of vanilla, cedar and cardamom. |
| Palate | Structured and deep, this wine from bodega Viña Salceda masterfully expresses the combination of fruit- driven power, balsamic freshness and mineral energy that defines the wines from la Sonsierra. Phenomenal acidity, well-rounded tannins and impeccably integrated oak, with a long, very refined finish. |
