Coming from DO Valle de la Orotava (Tenerife), the wine Suertes del Marqués Los Pasitos is a varietal Baboso Negro (a variety indigenous to the region, also known as Bruñal, Alfrocheiro Prieto and Albarín Negro) made by the Suertes del Marqués winery.
This varietal Spanish red wine is sourced from a single vineyard located at 400 metres of altitude on average, with clayey soils beneath which there is pure volcanic rock. The vineyards have a protective vegetal cover and are organically farmed.
The grapes were picked by hand in the second week of September. Once in the cellar, they were half destemmed and macerated for 3 weeks, after which they were fermented with indigenous yeasts in open vats. After that, Suertes del Marqués Los Pasitos 2023 was transferred into French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 10 months on lees.
We suggest that you decant this Valle de la Orotava red wine some time before drinking, since it may contain some natural sediment.
