Red Wine Tarima Monastrell 2023
Availability: In stock
With the aim of capturing the many sides of the multifaceted Monastrell, the great red variety indigenous to southeastern Spain, Jorge Ordóñez produces several varietal wines from this variety, like this Spanish red wine.
The wine Tarima Monastrell, crafted by Bodegas Volver, is made from grapes coming from vines located at an altitude of 650 to 750 metres, right in the heart of DO Alicante. The ungrafted vines grow in rocky soils with very low levels of organic matter. They were planted between 1972 and 1979.
After a late harvest, the grapes were vinified in stainless steel tanks. After that, the wine Tarima Monastrell 2023 was gently aged for 6 months in the French oak barrels previously used to age Tarima Hill, an upper tier red wine from Alicante from the same winery.
Appearance | The red wine Tarima Monastrell is deep ruby with a violet rim. |
---|---|
Nose | Some intense notes of cranberries and blackberries, along with notes of sweet spices, fresh liquorice and some overtones of freshly-cut grass and aromatic herbs, typical of a varietal Monastrell. |
Palate | The freshness of the fruit with the sweet notes coming from the oak ageing are nicely combined in this wine from Bodegas Volver. Nice touches of coffee, chocolate and liquorice. Good acidity and savoury tannins. This vegan red wine has a gentle, fruity finish. |
Our personal opinion | Pleasant and well-rounded, the wine Tarima Monastrell 2023 is simply an unbeatable value. |
