Formerly known as Titiana Vintage, the Cava Titiana de Can Matons Pansa Blanca is an interesting Spanish sparkling wine made solely from Pansa Blanca - the local variant of Xarel·lo.
This Cava is produced in the coastal region of Alella, Catalonia's tiniest Designation of Origin, located within a stone throw from Barcelona. The Pansa Blanca vines are grown in the sandy soils typical of the region, locally known as "Sauló".
After a meticulous harvest carried out in little boxes, this Brut Cava from Alella was fermented mostly in French oak barrels and in stainless steel tanks. After that, the Cava Titiana de Can Matons Pansa Blanca 2016 completed secondary fermentation in the bottle and was aged for some years before hitting the market.
Vinous, indigenous and structured, this Brut Cava will pair nicely with a multi-course dinner.
Appearance | The Cava Titiana de Can Matons Pansa Blanca has a pale yellowish-gold colored body with green reflections. |

Nose | The nose of this wine is defined by the creamy aromas typical of the Pansa Blanca variety. Mediterranean herbs, hints of English custard, French patisserie and churned butter. In addition, there are toasted notes along with ripe white fruit. |
Palate | This cava of bodega Can Matons is structured and substantial, with some toasted nuances, dry fruit, a hint of aromatic herbs, a touch of citrus and, again, a creamy-buttery layer. Smooth-textured, this Cava from Alella has a long, creamy finish. |
Our personal opinion | Elegant and well-structured, the Cava Titiana de Can Matons Pansa Blanca 2016 deserves some serious attention. |
