Produced by world-class winemaker Raúl Pérez, the wine Ultreia Mencía showcases the many charms of the Mencía variety.
This varietal Spanish red wine was sourced from vineyards with slate soils located in Ponferrada, DO Bierzo.
Picked by hand between late August and early September, the grapes were whole-bunch fermented in open oak vats with no temperature control, and subsequently macerated for a long period of time (60 days).
After that, the wine Ultreia Mencía 2022 was aged for 12 months in 2nd year French oak barrels. This red wine from El Bierzo was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Terroir-bound and elegant, this Crianza red wine shows again the magic touch of Raúl Pérez, its renowned creator.
