Made by Raúl Pérez, one of Spain's most renowned winemakers, the wine Los Arrotos del Pendón is solely made from Prieto Picudo, a red variety indigenous to the region of Castilla y León.
Earthy, aromatic and with a high tannin content, after some years in the bottle Prieto Picudo can produce quite appealing wines.
This Spanish red wine is sourced from a 2-hectare vineyard planted with over 100-year-old vines at an altitude over 900 metres in the village of Pajares de Otero, León.
Harvested by hand, the non-destemmed grape bunches were macerated for 2 months with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. After that, the red wine Los Arrotos del Pendón 2020 was aged for 24 months in used French oak barrels.
