Details
The red wine El Pecado is one of the bottlings of the Proyectos de Autor (signature projects) collection by preeminent Spanish winemaker Raúl Pérez.
Coming from DO Ribeira Sacra, this Crianza red wine is a world-class expression of the Mencía variety, sourced from centenary vines grown in the Viña Capeliños lieux-dit, situated at 250 metres above sea level with soils of slate and granite.
The handpicked grapes went through a 45% whole-cluster fermentation in truncated cone-shaped tanks for over 50 days. Drawn-off by gravity and manually pressed, this Spanish red wine was transferred into used French oak barrels and aged for a period of 12-14 months.
Once bottled, the red wine El Pecado 2023 was stored for no less than 12 months before hitting the market.
Production around 1,200 bottles. Very limited availability.
We suggest gently aerating this red wine from Ribeira Sacra before drinking.
