Valtuille Vino de Villa 2024
Made by world-renowned winemaker Raúl Pérez, the wine Valtuille Vino de Villa is sourced from vineyards scattered across the village of Valtuille de Abajo, in the DO Bierzo.
This Spanish red wine is a blend of Mencía with a 15% of Bastardo (aka Trousseau), Alicante Bouschet (aka Garnacha Tintorera) and some white varieties. North-oriented, the vines are 40 to 100 years old.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were spontaneously fermented whole-bunch in open wooden vats. After a long maceration with a daily punch-down of the solid skin cap, this Village wine was racked, pressed and left to rest.
After that, the red wine Valtuille Vino de Villa 2024 was transferred into 225, 400 and 500-litre French oak barrels and aged for 12 months.
Once again, the remarkable talent of Raúl Pérez shines through this Crianza red wine.
