A varietal Godello wine from DO Valdeorras, the wine Valdesil Godello is made from an old, high-quality clone of Galicia's other great native variety.
The debut vintage, 1991, was the first ever commercially released Spanish white wine aged on lees.
The grapes are sourced from 20 to 50-year-old vines planted in schist soils. Each plot was harvested at dawn and then vinified according to its special characteristics. Then the grapes were brought to the cellar, destemmed and cold-soaked for 6 hours.
Then this white wine aged on lees by Bodega Valdesil was fermented in stainless steel tanks using only indigenous yeasts.
After that, the white wine Valdesil Godello 2025 was aged for 6 months on lees with periodic stirrings.
