The wine Viña Sastre Rafael Sastre, also known as Viña Sastre Roble, is a varietal Tinta del País (or Tempranillo) sourced from vines around 30 years old located in DO Ribera del Duero.
Produced by Bodegas Hermanos Sastre, the grapes are sourced from vineyards which sandy-limestone soils. The region has a Continental-Mediterranean climate.
The vineyards are farmed following environmentally friendly procedures. Farming operations do not involve the use of any chemicals or pesticides.
Harvested at dusk, the grapes were gently pressed and the must underwent a prefermentative cold maceration for 7 days. After that, this Spanish red wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature.
After the completion of alcoholic fermentation, the red wine Viña Sastre Rafael Sastre 2024 was aged for 6-10 months in American and French oak barrels.
This is a no-nonsense young red wine from Ribera del Duero.
Production around 150,000 bottles.
