VT Valdejalón

Created in the early XXIth century, the IGP Vino de la Tierra de Valdejalón comprises 37 villages in an area of the Zaragoza province traversed by the Jalón river. An orographically diverse region with a long winemaking history, the unifying climatic factor is the influence of the cierzo, a cold north wind that acts as a cooling agent during the long, hot summers.

In the last years, the Vino de la Tierra de Valdejalón IGP has started to attract the attention of wine aficionados in Spain and abroad, particularly thanks to the impressive work of Bodegas Frontonio, the winery single-handedly responsible for putting the Valdejalón wines in the world map of quality.

The wines from Tierra de Valdejalón are divided into four categories: red, white, rosé and dessert/fortified wines.

The red varieties authorized by the IGP Vino de la Tierra de Valdejalón are Grenache, Monastrell, Mazuela, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo, Graciano and Syrah. The white varieties are Macabeo, White Grenache, Chardonnay and Muscat of Alexandria.
