The wine Las Alas de Frontonio La Tejera is one of the top-shelf reds of Bodegas Frontonio, the project of Fernando Mora, Spain’s youngest Master of Wine and one the most brilliant winemakers of his generation.
A blend of Grenache and Macabeo, this Spanish red wine – one of the Grand Cru wines in the pyramid of quality of the Frontonio winery – is sourced from a 1.4-hectare vineyard, called La Tejera, planted 80 years ago at 680 metres of altitude and composed of slate soils rich in quartzite.
Located in the Sierras del Jalón area of the VT Valdejalón designation, the certified organic vineyard is in conversion to biodynamic agriculture (Demeter).
The grapes were hand-picked on September 6 and went through a full cluster vinification in open-top concrete vats with a 55-day maceration, performing daily punch-downs. Once the process was completed, the red wine Las Alas de Frontonio La Tejera 2022 was aged for 14 months in oak vats.
This organic red wine was bottled in July 2024.

We suggest gently aerating this single vineyard red wine before drinking.
