Adegas Ladairo
The wines of Bodegas Ladairo benefit from the excellent terroir of the Monterrei region.
Founded in the 1980s by José Luis Vaz, Bodegas Ladairo is located in the Ladairo valley. Belonging to the DO Monterrei and not far from the Portuguese border, the region is defined by an Atlantic climate with a strong Continental influence.
Planted on steep slopes, the trellis-trained vineyards feature two main varieties: the red Mencía and the white Godello. Nowadays, the Ladairo winery owns 20 hectares in total, in which there are also small plantations of the native varieties Souson, Caíño, Merenzao, Loureira and Treixadura.
Winemaking sagely combines the latest innovations with a traditional and minimalistic approach. Most of the wines produced by Adegas Ladairo are aged in American, French and Hungarian oak barrels.
The resulting wines are well-defined, expressive and characteristic. Some of them have received national and international awards.
