Cuevas de Arom

Cuevas de Arom

High-altitude Grenache wines from Aragón.

Bodega Cuevas de Arom is the join venture of Bodegas San Alejandro, the most important wine coop in Aragón, and Bodegas Frontonio, the personal project of the Aragonese Master of Wine Fernando Mora, one of the brightest stars of the new generation of Spanish winemakers.

The stated goal of the Cuevas de Arom winery (‘Arom’ is ‘Mora’ spelled backwards) is to produce world-class Grenache wines from very old vineyards located on the outskirts of Calatayud. The plots, owned by the members of Bodegas San Alejandro, are planted on steep slopes with slate soils at 800+ metres of altitude.

The wines of bodega Cuevas de Arom are always partially or fully whole-cluster vinified in concrete diposits, wooden vats and ceramic jars, aiming to convey a fresh, elegant and terroir-driven expression of the Grenache from Aragón. Yearly production is around 32,000 bottles.
