Made solely from Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) grapes, Flores de Callejo is the entry-level Spanish red wine from Bodegas Félix Callejo, a quality-oriented winery based in DO Ribera del Duero.
The grapes come from organically certified parcels located in the basin of the Duero river, at altitudes between 850 and 930 metres above sea level. Composition of the soils varies greatly, including limestone, clay, sand and pebble stones.
The grapes were selected both in the vineyard and in the cellar. After being destemmed, they were cold-soaked, fermented in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts and subsequently macerated. Then this red wine from Ribera del Duero went through a spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
Finally, the red wine Flores de Callejo 2023 was aged for 5 months in 500 litre oak barrels and in stainless steel tanks.
