Vermut Fot-Li Blanco

The vermouth Fot-Li Blanco is produced by Alegre Wines & Spirits, a company founded in 2016 with the aim of recovering the traditional formula of the vermouth from Reus. A quaint city in the southern part of Catalonia, Reus is the main production area as well as the historical vermouth capital of Spain.

This Spanish white vermouth is made from White Grenache, complemented with a 10% of Viura and Airén.

After obtaining the base wine, this white vermouth was macerated for 3 weeks with a carefully selected blend of botanicals, such as tangerine, orange peel, aniseed, cardamom, thyme, rosemary, fennel and nutmeg. Finally, the vermouth Fot-Li Blanco was aged for some time in 80% American and 20% French oak barrels around 15 years of age.

Straw-coloured with some whiteish reflections, the vermouth Fot-Li Blanc from Reus suggests aromas of candied citrus, Grand Marnier liqueur, Mediterranean herbs and exotic spices. The palate is savoury, smooth and structured, nicely balancing the bitter and sweet components and leaving remembrances of clove, vanilla and lemon pie.
