The wine Lo Morenillo is one of the very few varietal Morenillo wines available on the market.
An interesting and extremely rare variety indigenous to the DO Terra Alta, Morenillo produces characterful, medium-bodied wines with compelling aromatics and a bright acidity.
Made by bodega Vins del Tros, located in the village of Vilalba dels Arcs (Tarragona), this Spanish red wine is sourced from a single vineyard, La Cirera, planted at 410 metres of altitude and composed of panal (fossilized dunes) and clay soils. The certified organic vines are tended following the guidelines of biodynamic agriculture.
The grapes were hand-picked and carefully sorted, after which this Crianza red wine was fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Then this red wine from Terra Alta was transferred into French oak barrels and aged for 12 months.
The production of the red wine Lo Morenillo 2021 is very limited. Only 1,100 bottles.
