Red Wine Protos 3er Año 2021
Availability: In stock
Made solely from Tinta del País, the wine Protos 3er Año - the new name of the famed Protos Crianza - is an old favourite of our customers and one of Ribera del Duero's best known wines.
The 2021 vintage of this Crianza red wine shows, as usual, an impeccably classic profile.
Produced from low-yielding vines, the grapes were selected and vinified in stainless steel tanks.
After that, this Spanish red wine from Bodegas Protos went through a partial malolactic fermentation in French and American oak barrels, after which it was aged for a period of 12 months.
After the completion of the process, the wine Protos 3er Año 2021 was aged for a couple of years before its commercial release.
It is advisabel to aerate this red wine from Ribera del Duero 30 minutes before drinking.
| Appearance | The red wine Protos 3er Año is medium purple with a garnet rim. |

| Nose | Expressive and nuanced, this varietal Tinta del País conveys aromas of raisins, blackberries and toast, alongside some spicy aromas of Jamaica pepper, toffee and balsam. In the background, some floral and earthy notes. |
| Palate | Powerful and silky, this wine of Bodegas Protos has a good balance between fruit, oak and tannins, still a tad rugged. Medium-long finish with remembrances of cocoa, black fruit and spices. |
| Our personal opinion | A classic Ribera del Duero that invariably delivers, the wine Protos 3er Año 2021 pairs excellently with meat dishes. |
