A varietal Tinta del País, the wine Protos Reserva 5º Año (formerly known as Protos Reserva) is made from vines more than 50 years old, planted in some of Ribera del Duero best terroirs.
Produced by Bodegas Protos, the grapes were harvested fully ripen, selected in the vineyard and brought to the cellar, where they were selected again and macerated.
Then this Spanish red wine was fermented for 24 days at a temperature of 28ºC-30ºC, with daily pump-overs and punch-downs.
After that, this Reserva red wine from Peñafiel was transferred into French and American oak barrels, where it was aged for 18 months.
Clarified and filtered before bottling, the wine Protos Reserva 5º Año 2020 was aged for 24 months minimum in the cellar prior to its commercial release.
