Details

Produced by Vinyes Domènech, Rosat de Mitjanit is an interesting varietal Spanish rosé wine made solely from Hairy Grenache. The grapes come from former Cabernet Sauvignon vines, which were regrafted in 2011.

Situated in DO Montsant, the organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards were meticulously harvested in late September. Once in the celler, they were kept at a temperature of 2 to 4ºC, destemmed, gently pressed, drawn-off, and fermented with indigenous yeasts.

After that, this rosé wine from Montsant was aged for 5 months on its lees.

Finally, Rosat de Mitjanit 2022 was gently filtered and bottled.

Pair this Hairy Grenache rosé wine with spicy pasta recipes and Thai cuisine.

Additional Information
Appearance

The rosé wine Rosat de Mitjanit is medium salmon with an orangeish rim.

Nose

Initially reminiscent of white and red flowers, this varietal Hairy Grenache soon suggests aromas of red fruit and bone fruit, with notes of aromatic herbs and licorice, as well as a salty note.

Palate

Smooth and complex, this rosé wine from Celler Vinyes Domènech is fruit-driven, delicately warm and meatier than your usual rosé. Remembrances of pomegranate, red apples and roses, with a dash of aromatic herbs and a mineral finish.

Our personal opinion

The best vintage to date, Rosat de Mitjanit 2022 is subtler and more engaging than ever.

bold rosé
Value
Not a Provence rosé, that's for sure. Deeper and more structured, it needs food.
