We are happy to present the 2021 vintage of the wine Scala Dei Heretge, a one-of-a-kind Carignan red wine produced by bodega Scala Dei, the oldest winery in DOQ Priorat.
This exceptional Spanish red wine comes from centenary vines planted in three vineyards: Cap la Serra, Parts de l'Ase and La Font, located between La Vilella Alta and Torroja del Priorat.
Picked by hand and meticulously selected, once in the cellar the grapes were partially destemmed and fermented with 50% full clusters in open concrete diposits for a period of 30 days. Then the wine Scala Dei Heretge 2021 was aged for 15 months in 4,000-litre French oak vats.
Finally, this Priorat red wine was kept for a further 3 months in concrete diposits. It was bottled in July 2023 and stored for 18+ months before its commercial release.
An instant classic, this Crianza red wine is hard to come by. Grab one bottle while you can!
Only 2,597 bottles produced.
Decant 2 hours before drinking at the very least.

| Palate | This wine from bodega Scala Dei is complex and ever-evolving, suggesting wild berries, garrigue, spices, flowers and chinese ink. It conveys a real sense of place, with an amazing freshness and a steely acidity that sustains the wine all the way to a memorable, deeply mineral finish. |
