The wine Verónica Ortega La Llorona is a remarkable single vineyard white wine made by acclaimed Andalusian winemaker Verónica Ortega - who, in the early 2010s, found her wine paradise in the DO Bierzo..
A varietal Godello, this Spanish white wine is sourced from a low-yielding parcel with sandy soils planted 40 years ago at 500 metres of altitude, on the head of a valley, near the village of Pieros.
The hand-picked grapes were fully destemmed and briefly macerated. Then this white wine from El Bierzo fermented spontaneously in 1,000 600, 500 and 225 oak vats and oak barrels.
After that, the white wine Verónica Ortega La Llorona 2024 was aged in the said containers for a period of 11 months.
7,954 bottles produced.
We suggest gently aerating this Crianza white wine before drinking.
