An excellent red wine from the Gran Reserva Bosconia in the region of Rioja. This wine has a red Tempranillo base that has been mixed with Grenache. In addition, a small percentage of Mazuelo and Graciano have been added to round off this wine. All of these grapes are personally selected by the vineyards and come from old grape vines of the López de Heredia vineyard. These grapes are cultivated in a traditional manner and aged for 10 years in barrels with two decanting process by hand every year.
The 1995 vintage of this wine was considered an excellent one because of the quality of these grapes, grapes that were perfectly ripened after a year and represented the character of their very precocious cultivation. There were only 8,500 bottles of this vintage of wine made.
This wine shows a perfect evolution in the bottle and for this the wine has great capacity to be preserved until the year 2020.
| Appearance | Brilliant and intense ruby colored wine with brick-red reflections. Medium-high layering. Elegant and a fine tear. |
|---|---|
| Nose | Persistent and complex aromas. Initially, this wine presents tertiary aromas with distinctive leather notes and some humidity which all give way to ripe fruit and potency entwined with many spicy and toasted notes. |
| Palate | A wine with volume, this Gran Reserva Viña Bosconia is very flavorful, velvety, and elegant. A fruit forward wine that is well-balanced and presents toasted, tobacco, and licorice notes. Lively acidity. Polished tannins that are very well integrated. A long and persistent finish. |
| Our personal opinion | A great wine from Rioja. Elegant and round. |
