Viña Tondonia Reserva 2013
One of La Rioja's absolute classics, the wine Viña Tondonia Reserva is crafted from a traditional blend of mostly Tempranillo, complemented with Grenache and a dollop of Graciano and Mazuela (aka Carignan).
Meticulously harvested and selected, the vinification of the grapes was carried out following the same techniques that, established more than a century ago, have put bodega R. López de Heredia-Viña Tondonia winery in a class of its own.
Once the process was completed, this Spanish red wine from was aged for 6 years in oak barrels, with two annual rackings.
Prior to being bottled in November 2021, the wine Viña Tondonia Reserva 2013 was clarified with egg whites. It was not filtered, however, in order to preserve its traditional character.
Finally, it was cellared for a further 4 years before hitting the shelves.

As the wine opens, it shows notes of ripe red fruit, some remembrances of flowers and a dash of tobacco, cocoa and arabica coffee. |
| Palate | Classicisim at its best. This wine from R. López de Heredia - Viña Tondonia is fresh, linear and smooth. Tense acidity, supple tannins and long, dreamy persistance with a tint of Havana cigars, cedar desk and Oriental spices. |
