Vinya dels Aspres S'Alou 2021
The wine Vinyes dels Aspres S’Alou is produced by bodega Vinyes dels Aspres in the village of Cantallops, located in the northernmost area of DO Empordà.
This blended Spanish red wine is made from Grenache (77%), Syrah (23%), the grapes are sourced from dry-farmed vineyards around 50 years old grown in granitic and slate soils in an area exposed to the harsh tramuntana wind, which naturally protects the vines from parasite infection.
The hand-picked grapes were destemmed before being vinified in stainless steel tanks – each variety was vinified independently. This red wine from l’Empordà was macerated for 26 days.
After some months in the tanks, the red wine Vinyes dels Aspres S’Alou 2021 was transferred into lightly-toasted Allier French oak barrels, where it was aged for 12 months. It was bottled in April 2024.
Very limited production. Only 2,376 bottles.
