La bodega Celler Cal Pla fue fundado en el año 1814, cuando el Priorat inició su transformación vitivinícola. Hasta el día de hoy, han trabajado siete generaciones de la familia en este gran proyecto dejando una extraordinaria bodega todavía en funcionamiento y unos viñedos centenarios.

Founded in 1814, Celler Cal Pla is one of the oldest wineries in Priorat. Thus, the history of the company runs parallel with the storied history of the area: from the "wine boom" of the early XIXth century and the devastating effects of the phylloxera plague in the late XIXth century, to the "Priorat renaissance" in the last third of the XXth century, followed by its current status as one of Spain's most prestigious wine producing regions.

Located in the village of Porrera, Celler Cal Pla owns 50 hectares of vineyards divided into 6 different plots. The winery grows the following grape varieties: Grenache, Carignan, Picapoll Blanc, Picapoll Negre, Trepat Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Xarel·lo, Macabeo, White Grenache and Muscat. It is worth noting that some of the vines are over 100 years of age. They are among the oldest in all Priorat.

As regards winemaking, Celler Cal Pla combines the use of traditional machinery with modern equipment. Currently, the winery has an 80,000-litre concrete diposit, several 100,000-litre stainless steel tanks, and 350 oak barrels of different capacities (225, 300 and 500 litres). Average production of grapes is 140 tones per vintage.
