De Bardos

From the Ribera del Duero the De Bardos winery is crafting artesian wines that preset a very unique character.

The De Bardos winery is part of the Grupo Vintae winery group that is crafting wines in the Ribera del Duero D.O. of Spain. This winery has selective “pago” rated vineyards that are spread throughout this region providing for unique grapes that produce unique wines. The wines by the De Bardos winery present a unique character of their terroir in the castellanoleonesa plateau. All of the wines by De Bardos are crafted by hand in a fully artesian manner.  

One of De Bardos well-known red wines is Ars Romántica from the Ribera del Duero, this is a very fruity red wine that presents a benchmark in the region for high quality red wines. Ars Romántica is aged in crianza in French oak barrels for 14 months. This is a very delicate wine that presents a pleasant sweetness. Another well-known red wine by De Bardos is Ars Épica, which is a fresh and elegant red wine that was aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels. When there is an exceptional quality grape harvest De Bardos crafts Ars Suprema. When Ars Suprema is crafted it is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Ars Suprema is a fragrant and powerful Spanish red wine. All of the wines by the De Bardos winery are single varietal Tempranillo wines (Tinta del País), with the exception of Ars Mítica, which is a well-structured and complex Tempranillo wine that has a coupage featuring 10% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

The Grupo Vintae winery group has now expanded into other Denominations of Origins outside of the Ribera del Duero and they are crafting wines with a unique character from other zones as well. In the Navarra this winery group operates Monastir, and in Toro, Matsu. The Grupo Vintae has also expanded into the Valles de Sadacia with their winery Castillo de Maetierra. One of the most unique winery´s of this group is in Ribera de Queils where they operate Winery Arts. The most recent project of the Group Vintae is their work with Spanish Grenache at Garnachas de España.
