Details
Produced by Castillo de Perelada in DO Empordà, the wine Cigonyes Tinto is made from 48% Syrah, 42% Grenache and 10% Merlot.
The grapes were harvested by hand and, once in the winemaking facilities, they were destemmed and transferred into stainless steel vats, where they realized a pre-fermentation maceration.
Then they were fermented at a controlled temperature, and after that this Spanish red wine was transferred into 2nd year French and American oak barrels, where it was aged for 3 months.
Nicely presented in a Burgundy bottle, Cigonyes Tinto 2022 is a straightforward, fruit-driven red wine. Pair with light dishes.
As regards the name of this red wine from Empordà, "Cigonyes" means "Storks", which alludes to a successful stork repopulation program undertaken some years ago by the Castillo Perelada winery.

| Palate | Pleasant and well-balanced, this wine from Castillo de Perelada has a nice entrance onto the palate, sustained by a good acidity. Subdued spicy notes become present after a while, alongside remembrances of freshly cut vegetables. Finish is medium-long and clean. |
