The Cava Freixenet Casa Sala is an homage to a winemaking tradition that goes back more than 150 years. In fact, this wine bears its name from the Sala Estate, the place where the Freixenet family began producing sparkling wines more than a century and a half ago.
The grapes were pressed with an old French press dating from the late XIXth century. After that, they were fermented in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts.
Once fermentation was completed, Freixenet Casa Sala Brut Nature 2006 was bottled and aged for 84 months in the cellar.
This is a brut nature Cava, so no shipping liquor was added to the wine after its disgorging.
Open the bottle a minimum of 30 minutes before drinking.
Drink until 2020+.
Freixenet Casa Sala Brut Nature has a pale yellow colour with some golden tinges.
This Gran Reserva Brut Nature by the Freixenet winery is superbly elegant and complex. Remembrances of pastry, butter and dry fruit, notes of white fruit, baked apples, and hints of aniseed, rosemary, lime and Mediterranean garrigue.
This Grand Reserve sparkling wine made from Xarel.lo and Parellada is substantial and yummy. Honeyed and leesy, but also very fresh and reminiscent of citrus, butter and toasted hazelnuts. Mousse melts in the palate, and the finish is very long, leaving remembrances of smoke and French patisserie.
