This is a sweet Cava produced by the Freixenet winery, the biggest Cava producer, intended to be enjoyed with desserts. The Cava Freixenet Malvasía Reserva Dolç is made from Malvasía grapes which were cultivated in poor and rocky soils.
The grape harvest was realized in September after the Malvasía grapes had achieved their peak ripeness.
The alcoholic fermentation of this sweet Spanish sparkling wine was carried out at controlled temperatures between 13 and 18 ºC.
After the disgorgement process, the Cava Freixenet Malvasía Reserva Dolç 2014 was aged for around 70 months. Then it was added shipping liquor crafted from Malvasía and reserve wines aged in chestnut barrels for 20 years.
