The wine La Xara is the only varietal Grenache made by Bodegas Ponce, the family winery that has single-handedly put the obscure DO Manchuela, in central Spain, in the world map of quality wine.
This Spanish red wine sourced from 10 hectares of certified organic vineyards with clay-limestone and granitic soils. They went through a full-cluster fermentation with native yeasts in French oak vats.
After that, this red wine from DO Manchuela was aged in 11,000-litre and 600-litre French oak barrels for 7 months.
The red wine La Xara 2024 was bottled and kept in the cellar for a brief period of time before hitting the market.
