The wine Ponce Blanco is one of the two whites made by Bodegas Ponce, an exciting project led by Juan Antonio Ponce that has single-handedly put the DO Manchuela, in Central Spain, in the global wine map.
Made solely from Albilla – an indigenous white variety not to be confused with the Albillo grape from Ribera del Duero, Gredos and the Canary Islands – this Spanish white wine is sourced from 10 hectares of vineyards 50+ years of age with limestone, granitic and clay-limestone soils.
The grapes were fermented in 600-litre oak barrels and 1,000-litre oak vats. After that, the white wine Ponce Blanco 2025 was aged on lees in those containers for 7 months.
This white wine from DO Manchuela was cellared for some months before hitting the market.
