Sweet Fortified Wine Lustau Oloroso Don Nuño
Availability: In stock
Lustau Oloroso Don Nuño is a wine entirely made from Palomino grapes.
The Oloroso wines are produced from the wine musts that possess the highest concentration of alcohol.
Once detected, the winemaker fortifies them with wine alcohol until they reach a degree of 15ºC.
Then the wine undergoes a process of oxidative ageing for a long period of time.
This Jerez-Xérèz-Sherry was aged following the Soleras and Criaderas system for over a minimum of 12 years.
Oloroso Don Nuño is one of the boldest, most powerful Sherry wines crafted by the reputed Emilio Lustau winery.
Appearance | Clean, very bright, medium-low copper-coloured robe with some amber tinges. |
---|---|
Nose | Intense aromas of dry fruit, particularly hazelnuts and nuts. Notions of brandy, liquorice, raisins, candied orange rind, toffee, honey and toast over a delicately iodized background. |
Palate | Dry and powerful Spanish fortified wine, with tremendous complexity. Withered flowers, sweet spices, toast, coffee, liquorice, candied hazelnuts, old wood and bitter chocolate. Great acidity, delicately warm core and endless, mind-boggling finish. |
Our personal opinion | Lustau Oloroso Don Nuño is the perfect fireplace wine. |
