Produced by Celler Cal Pla from vineyards around 35 years old, the wine Mas d’en Compte Blanc is a classically-styled, characterful Spanish white wine from DOQ Priorat.
The main component is White Grenache complemented with Picapoll Blanc, Xarel·lo and Macabeo. The vines are grown in the typical llicorella (slate) soils which have given worldwide fame to the region.
The grapes were harvested by hand and traditionally vinified in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature.
After that, the white wine Mas d'en Compte Blanc 2019 was aged on lees for 6 months in new French oak barrels.
Fruit-driven, gently mineral and even petrol-like after some years in the bottle, this white wine from Priorat is excellent with fish recipes, white meat dishes and creamy cheeses.
It is advisable to decant this white wine aged in oak some time before drinking.
