The wine Merum Priorati El Cel is the top-shelf product of bodega Merum Priorati, the brand in DOQ Priorat of the Pere Ventura Fairly Wine Estates group.
A spectacular jewel, this small-batch Spanish red wine is made from mostly Grenache, complemented with Carignan, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are sourced from 20 to 110-year-old vines planted on steep slate slopes near the village of Porrera. The vineyards have been granted the heroic viticulture seal by the CERVIM association.
Hand-picked and fully destemmed, the grapes were gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. After that, the red wine Merum Priorati El Cel 2021 was transferred into used French oak barrels, where it was aged for 18 months.
After finishing the process, this Crianza red wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered. It was further aged in the cellar for a substantial period of time before hitting the market.
Decant this red wine from Priorat at least 2 hours before drinking.
The production of this vegan wine is around 3,000 bottles.
