The wine Ratpenat is a minimal intervention Spanish white wine from DO Penedès made by Celler Credo, the still wine brand of famed sparkling wine producer Caves Recaredo.
This varietal white wine from Penedès is sourced from a 2-hectare Macabeo vineyard planted with 30- year-old vines and composed of slate and quartz soils, a type that is extremely rare in the Penedès region. Besides being certified organic, the vineyard is managed following the guidelines of biodynamic farming.
The grapes were sponteneously fermented in stainless steel tanks. After that, the white wine Ratpenat 2021 was kept for 1 month in used oak barrels.
It is worth mentioning that this vegan white wine has a very low sulfite content.
