Produced by bodega Suertes del Marqués, Suertes del Marqués Medianías is a made from Listán Negro, a grape indigenous to the region of Valle de la Orotava, in Tenerife, Canary Islands.
The grapes were sorted from organically farmed vines grown in the typical volcanic soils of Tenerife, at 600 metres of altitude above sea level.
Picked by hand and meticulously selected, the grapes -20% of which were not destemmed- were fermented in concrete diposits with indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature. After that, a portion of this varietal Spanish red wine was aged in the diposits, and the rest was transferred into French oak barrels and oak vats, where it was aged for 9 months.
Finally, Suertes del Marqués Medianías 2019 was bottled unfiltered.
Aerate this Crianza red wine some time before drinking.

Appearance | The wine Suertes del Marqués Medianías is pale ruby with some purplish glints. |

Nose | This varietal Listán Negro is expressive and characteristic. There is the distinctive note of pumice stone that one finds in most wines from Tenerife, which evolves into subtle aromas of black fruit and aromatic herbs, with spicy nuances and a citrusy touch. Quite appealing. |
Palate | Round and gently creamy, this red wine from Tenerife has some smooth tannins and a nice acidity. While perhaps less daring than the rest of bodega Suertes del Marqués's product lineup, this wine showcases the local character while offering great drinkability. Long, slightly bitter finish with some mineral and ashy remembrances. |
Our personal opinion | We recommend Suertes del Marqués Medianías 2019 to those interested in getting to know the wines from Tenerife. |
