Crafted by the one and only Raúl Pérez, the wine Ultreia La Claudina is one of the highest expressions of Godello, the great white variety from the DO Bierzo.
This varietal Spanish white wine is sourced from an east-oriented, 0.3-hectare parcel with sandy soils planted in 1995 near the village of Valtuille de Abajo, an area with an Atlantic climate with a Mediterranean influence at 500 metres of altitude.
The hand-picked grapes were fermented in a non-topped up 1,500-litre oak vats where a veil of flor naturally developed. It is worth mentioning that, to convey the purest terroir expression, this white wine from El Bierzo did not undergo malolactic fermentation.
Finally, the white wine Ultreia La Claudina 2023 was aged for 12-24 months in the vats before bottling.
2,300 bottles were produced of this Crianza white wine.
