The red vermouth Antich Original Vermell is made following an original recipe from 1850. Produced by Casa Antich, a brand of Grupo Vallformosa, this Spanish red vermouth proudly proclames itself as “the vermut of Barcelona.”

The base wine of this red vermouth is made from Macabeo grapes sourced from vineyards located in DO Penedès.

First, the base wine went through an oxidative ageing process in barrels. After that, it was infused with a blend of 37 organic botanicals, such as vanilla, gentian, thyme, wormwood and bitter orange. The colour was obtained by adding organic sugar cane molasses.

Amber-coloured, the vermouth Antich Original Vermell suggests aromas of thyme, elderflower, vanilla and cinnamon, with a Sherry-ish note. On the palate, this organic red vermouth suggests a distinctive note of wormwood and herbs, with a gently sweet note and a long finish with an oxidative remembrance.
