Red Wine Augustus Reserva Trajanus 2018
Availability: In stock
This is the new vintage of Augustus Reserva Trajanus of Cellers Avgvstvs Forvm, a Spanish red wine made from vineyards situated in DO Penedès.
The name of the winery aptly reminds us that its vineyards located near the former Via Augusta, the Roman road that connected Rome with Tarraco, the imperial capital located in southern Catalonia.
Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo, Grenache and Cabernet Franc, the grapes were separetely harvested and vinified. After completing fermentation, this organic red wine was aged for 24 months in 300-litre French oak barrels.
Bottled in March 2020, Augustus Reserva Trajanus 2018 was aged for a minimum of 24 months before hitting the market.
Decant this red wine from Penedès 1 hour before drinking.

Appearance | The red wine Augustus Reserva Trajanus is deep ruby with some reddish tinges. |
---|---|
Nose | Rather complex and nuanced, this blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Grenache and Merlot suggests some smokey and toasted notions, a dash of black fruit and a bouquet of flowers, giving way to aromas of spices, toffee and vanilla. In the background, some earthy and mineral remembrances and aromas of aromatic herbs and Havanna cigars. |
Palate | Complex, full-bodied and intense, the texture of this wine from Cellers Avgvstvs Forvm is smooth, and acidity is excellent. Tannins are ripe, and finish is very long, with remembrances of spices, fruit and some smokey and mineral notes. |
Our personal opinion | Distinguished and age-worthy, Augustus Reserva Trajanus 2018 is a serious wine. Pair with hearty dishes. |
