Produced by Augustus winery (also known as Celler Avgvustvs Forvm), the wine Augustus Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot is made from a blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot. Both varieties come from vineyards planted not far from the Mediterranean sea, following the old Via Augusta, Spain's principal Roman road.
Separately harvested and vinified, after a 8 to 13 day skin maceration both musts were fermented in stainless steel tanks. Then this red wine from Penedès was aged for 10-17 months in 300-litre French oak barrels.
After that, this Spanish red wine from Penedès was gently clarified and delicately filtered before being bottled in June 2023.
Finally, the red wine Augustus Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2021 was aged for a further 12 months before its commercial release.
