This is the new vintage of the wine Augustus Reserva Trajanus of Augustus winery (also known as Cellers Avgvstvs Forvm), a Spanish red wine made from vineyards situated in DO Penedès.
The name of the winery aptly reminds us that its vineyards located near the former Via Augusta, the Roman road that connected Rome with Tarraco, the imperial capital located in southern Catalonia.
Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo and Cabernet Franc, the grapes were separetely harvested and vinified. After completing fermentation, this organic red wine was aged for 24 months in 300-litre French oak barrels.
Bottled in April 2023, the red wine Augustus Reserva Trajanus 2019 was aged for a minimum of 24 months before hitting the market.
