A varietal Chardonnay, the wine Augustus Chardonnay is produced from vineyards located in the heart of Penedès, close to the Mediterranean Sea. Besides benefiting from an exceptionally bening climate, the sea breeze gives a distinctively saline nuance to the grapes.
Crafted by Augustus winery (also known as the Avgvstvs Forum winery), the grapes were harvested all along August. This Spanish white wine was vinified using only the "free-run" juice coming from the first, gentlest pressing of the grapes.
Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations took place inside 300-litre French oak barrels. Finally, the white wine Augustus Chardonnay 2024 was aged for 4 months in the barrels.
Prior to its bottling, this organic white wine was delicately filtered.
This varietal white wine from Penedès is subtly mineral and quite special.
