Produced by the Agustí Torelló Mata winery (Celler Kripta), the Cava Celler Kripta Barrica Gran Reserva (previously known as Agustí Torelló Mata Gran Reserva Barrica) is a food-friendly Spanish sparkling wine.
A varietal Macabeo, this Cava Gran Reserva is sourced from a single, organically certified vineyard, Pla dels Fidels, planted in 1964.
First, the grapes were fermented and aged on lees for 6 months in French oak barrels.
Then the wine was blended and bottled. After completing secondary fermentation, the Cava Celler Kripta Barrica Gran Reserva 2019 was aged for a minimum of 48 months.
Creamy and Champagne-like, this organic and vegan sparkling wine is a different take on traditional Cava. It certainly deserves a try.
