This is a sweet Cava produced by the Freixenet winery that is intended to be enjoyed with desserts. Freixenet Malvasía Reserva Dolç is made from Malvasía grapes which were cultivated in poor and rocky soils.
The grape harvest was realized in September after the Malvasía grapes had achieved their peak ripeness.
The alcoholic fermentation of this sweet Spanish sparkling wine was carried out at controlled temperatures between 13 and 18 ºC.
After the disgorgement process, Freixenet Malvasía Reserva Dolç 2011 was aged for around 70 months. Then it was added shipping liquor crafted from Malvasía and reserve wines aged in chestnut barrels for 20 years.
A bright and clean sweet Cava, Freixenet Malvasía Reserva Dolç is medium gold.
Delicate notes of ripe white fruit that are sweet without being overly sweet. This varietal Malvasia exhibits some fresh bakery notes and pastry aromatics entwined with smokey notions, and also some remembrances of citrus, aromatic herbs and nuts.
A very pleasant entrance onto the palate this dessert Cava Freixenet Malvasia has, followed by a lively passage. This is a well balanced cava with a good body and a refreshing acidity. This sweet palate is enhanced by some bitterness, so the taste is never overly sweet.
