Produced by the great Raúl Pérez, the wine Los Arrotos del Pendón Rosado from Castilla y León is a young Spanish rosé wine made solely from Prieto Picudo, a little-known variety indigenous to the region.
The grapes come from a 2-hectare vineyard located at 900 metres of altitude, in the village of Pajares de Otero, León. Farmed following minimal intervention techniques, the vines are over 100 years of age.
Picked by hand, the grapes were fermented whole-bunch in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts. After that, the wine Los Arrotos del Pendón Rosado 2023 was aged for 4 months on lees before its bottling.
This is a characterful rosé wine from Castilla y León. As usual, Raúl Pérez's non-pareil winemaking skills shine through.
