Organic red wine. Single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon with a smattering of Grenache aged for 19 months in French oak barrels.
Availability: In stock
The wine Pasanau Finca La Planeta is the signature Spanish red wine of bodega Pasanau, a family winery based in the village of La Morera de Montsant, DOQ Priorat.
Virtually a varietal Cabernet Sauvignon (96%) - very seldom encountered nowadays in the Priorat region - this Crianza red wine is sourced from a single vineyard of 2.75 hectares with soils of pudding stone, sand and limestone, called La Planeta, planted in 1985 near La Morera del Montsant, at 730 metres of altitude. The Cab. Sauvignon is nuanced by a 4% Grenache from a neighbouring plot, planted in the 1940s.
Both factors, the soil and the altitude impart to this organic red wine an incredible freshness and a remarkable mineral tension.
The handpicked grapes were separately fermented in stainless steel tanks. After that, this red wine from Priorat was aged for 19 months in French oak barrels.
The red wine Pasanau Finca La Planeta 2020 was bottled in February 2023 and cellared for no less than 2 years before hitting the shelves.
Be sure to aerate before drinking.
